ABOUT WHOM

The groundwork for PushPush actually began at Atlanta’s 7 Stages where Tim Habeger helped cull together 60+ Atlanta theater professionals for studio workshops to improve their artistry and explore new ways of collaboration. These workshops lasted for seven years and resulted in six acclaimed productions. The success of these shows responded to Atlanta’s growing appetite for a new, risk-taking Theater.

Founded by Tim Habeger, Shelby Hofer and Milton Sams in 1997 (with help from Rob Nixon starting in 1998), PushPush officially obtained nonprofit status in 1997 when the need for a permanent performance space triggered a move to a 1200 sq. ft. home at The FloatAway building on Zonolite Road in Virginia Highlands. After residing for a decade in East Decatur Station (the current home of 3 Taverns Brewery), PushPush went on tour with several shows and launched a writing program that has since turned into the Seedworks Lab, metro Atlanta’s first agile lab for content creators needing resources that extend beyond Atlanta’s glass ceiling. As our flagship program, Seedworks has a team of nine founding members, including Tim and Shelby.
